How OAM Proxy works

OAM Proxy explanation

Trying to give more details regarding this piece of OAM Solution I will provide today some important details about OAM Proxy.

1)OAM proxy should be installed in each OAM managed server. And this proxy is responsible to comunication between
WebGates and OAM Server, after installation and registration. This OAM proxy starts listening whe the application starts.

2)This feature can use 11G WebGates(R1 and R2) as well as 10G WebGates.

3)The default port for this proxy is 5575 and it supports HTTP front channel to be handled by all webgates.

4)From tracking perspective, you can go to:
WLS_HOME/config/fmwconfig/servers/oam_1/logging.xml and exable proxy trace:
...<logger name="oracle.oam.proxy" level="TRACE:32"/>

and log messages you will see at: DOMAIN_HOME/servers/oam1/logs/[oam1.logs or oam1_diagnostic.logs]

5) It also use OAP to communicate. From security purposes, OAM security[communication between OAM servers and OAM Agent]
is handled by OAM Proxy. And 'this guy' define the transport security mode[Open, Simple or Cert] for NAP(OAP). Simple and Cert
mode can use X.509 digital certificates or trusted third-party certificate.

6)Providing one illustration where OAM Proxy is:

ARCHITECT NOTE REMINDER:
OAMConsole is deployed into AdminServer and OAM Proxy and OAM Runtime is deployed into OAM Managed Server

I hope this helps,
Thiago Leoncio.
